whaaaa?!?!

i got a whopping bill for lab work i did associated with this pregnancy and the bill said "claim denied. services are a non-covered expense of your health plan." of course i think this is a mistake so i make some phone calls and come to discover that my insurance plan does NOT cover MATERNITY BENEFITS!!! will they cover the heart-attack i receive from realizing that i have the crappiest insurance plan?!?

i did not take it out on the poor customer service rep who had to break it to me, i know it wasn't his fault. but in the end, i was allowed to upgrade for a premium so now i will be covered but still i have to pay loads (like many G's) out of pocket and i just want to cry. lesson learned.

Wow! I'm sorry to hear that. I think I would've busted a nerve too if I found that out. Did you have the same insurance when you had Alison?

i quit my job after i had alison and we took out private insurance and we got the cheapest plan. our fault. we even asked if they covered pregnancy and they said "yes" over the phone but i didn't do my due diligence to read the paperwork.

omg!!! i would have freaked! wtf, seriously, you should still complain since you were told you would get maternity benefits. OMG!!

how's your pregnancy going so far? sad i missed nathan's dohl. and will be missing alison's dohl too. :(

i'm still freaking out. as it is now, it's cheaper to pay for everything out of pocket assuming absolutely nothing goes wrong and no pain medicines again... but i'm not sure i can do it. told myself i would get the epi this time. **sigh**

pregnancy is going ok. not as tired this time around and i still feel seasick all day long. and i get insomnia and i'm up at 4-5am every morning. i'm getting my NT test next week, which ofcourse i have to pay for out of pocket since i don't have coverage until june. damnit!

which hospital are you at this time? i used to have anesthesiologist friends... i can maybe see if any are at your hospital or if they know of any? or at the very least once you get your epi bill (or any bill infact) you can always call and ask for a discount. having worked in medical billing, this is actually very common and most dr's approve a discount we can give their clients without us having to get the ok from the dr first.

seriously though, that really sucks. jeff jokes that he wants to quit and help me with my biz, but i'm like, we need your steady income and insurance!

That's pretty much why between the 2 of us, I can't quit my job cause the hubby and the baby are both under my insurance. I'm thankful that the insurance at my job is pretty good.
